Yogen Fruz Scoops into Georgia with 10 Stores Planned

International frozen yogurt chain Yogen FrĂĽz has Georgia on its mind with a master franchise agreement that will bring 10 stores to the Peach State over the next few years. The agreement with Atlanta-based LB Yogurt LLC is the third U.S. development contract signed by Yogen FrĂĽz in the last month and the sixth since mid-2007, marking the first phase of an expansion into the U.S.

“Georgia is a key point on our U.S. road map, and LB Yogurt will be a strong territory developer as well as a strong ambassador for our brand,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Früz. “At the same time, as our third master franchise announcement in a month, this agreement shows the power of the frozen yogurt space in general and the Yogen Früz experience in the space in particular. We may be selling the big chill, but the market is red-hot.”

Yogen Fruz Signs Master Franchise for South Florida

Yogen FrĂĽz has announced that it has signed a master franchise agreement with Miami-based Frozen Guy LLC that will bring 21 stores to South Florida over the next eight years. Yogen Fruz has granted exclusive development rights to Frozen Guy LLC for all of South Florida below the Tampa-St. Petersburg area, including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

“South Florida has ideal demographics for frozen yogurt stores, not to mention the kind of weather where frozen treats are appealing year-round. Yogen Fruz Brings Frozen Yogurt Stores to Virginia & Washington D.C.

Yogen Fruz Frozen Yogurt Washington DC

Yogen FrĂĽz announced plans to open 16 stores in the Virginia and Washington, D.C. areas through a master franchise agreement with Raleigh, North Carolina-based YF Atlantic LLC. Plans are underway to secure the area’s first locations in Arlington, Alexandria, Chevy Chase, Fairfax, Tyson’s Corner, Washington DC’s East End, West End and Georgetown. The first location is expected to open early next year.

The contract marks the first for Yogen Früz in the eastern U.S. and the fifth master franchise agreement signed for the U.S. since mid-2007 as part of the company’s entry into the U.S. market. The first two U.S. stores opened last month in suburban Chicago’s Woodfield Shopping Center and San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center, with up to 1,000 U.S. outlets planned by 2018.

All stores feature Yogen Früz’s “Blend It” create-your-own frozen yogurt/fruit blends, mixed in the company’s proprietary machines while customers watch. Customers also have a “Top It” option consisting of plain yogurt with a choice of 18 toppings from fruit to granola, carob chips and Cap’n Crunch. Other menu items include dairy and non-dairy smoothies, fresh fruit cups, and parfait-style breakfast yogurt layered with fresh berries.

“We have a strategic road map for our U.S. expansion, and we are focusing on major metropolitan areas because they are the tastemakers for the country. The greater D.C. area was one of our top priorities,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Früz. “This agreement is therefore an important building block in our plan to make Yogen Früz the frozen yogurt brand of choice in the U.S. We are fortunate to be able to partner up with a strong group that will help us penetrate some parts of the eastern U.S.”

Frozen yogurt frenzy reaches Northern California

Yogen Fruz Embarcadero Center San Francisco

San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center is normally inhabited by a group of conventional business professionals who traditionally do not get caught up in anything particularly of the moment.

Yet today, on a Friday afternoon when most of these members of the Bay Area’s creative class quietly slip away from the office and head out for an early start to the weekend, something strange is happening.

There is an excitement building throughout Embarcadero, as today is not your average day. What could it possibly be that would get a rise out of these careerists by the waterfront?

Simply put, America’s froyo frenzy is about to land right here in the Bay Area as San Francisco enters the yogurt phenomenon. Trendy, tart frozen yogurt touches down in San Fran as the global leading non-fat low calorie chain known as “Yogen Fruz” opens its first store on the west coast of the United States.

Yogen Fruz Embarcadero Center San Francisco

Yogen Fruz successfully launches in the USA, with legions of its international fans plus hordes of new converts to its Blend It or Top It froyo flavor, officially entering the frozen yogurt wars which is increasingly gripping America.

On this day, it is the official grand opening of a quintessentially modern dessert shop. Yogen Fruz unveils a refreshingly hip, contemporary look & feel, highlighted by an ultra cool “u” which may be the cutest new logo seen in these parts for quite some time.

Invitations were sent out to frozen yogurt fans, inviting people in the know to “Come and experience what the world is talking about” and they came, in droves. According to building security, Yogen Fruz’s grand opening in San Francisco was lined up deep for over 7 hours straight, and it’s been close to that way ever since.

The word of the day, “yummy”!

Yogen Fruz Unveils New Store Design at Two Stores in Canada

Yogen Fruz TD Centre Metrotown Vancouver

Frozen Yogurt Chain Updates Decor, Signage, Packaging & More

TORONTO, Ontario — Yogen Fruz, the Canada-based frozen yogurt chain with 1,100 stores in 20 countries, has revamped its store design and overall branding to coincide with the opening of its first U.S. outlets in March. The first two stores with the new branding opened in Canada this month in the Toronto-Dominion Centre in Toronto and the MetroCentre in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The company expects at least 30 stores to open in U.S. strip plazas, shopping malls and regional shopping centers in 2008, with up to 1,000 U.S. outlets planned over the next decade. The first U.S. stores will open in the Orlando, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles metropolitan areas where master franchises have already been sold. Leases for 15 locations have been signed or are in the final negotiation stages to date.

The design update focuses on conveying the fresh, healthy attributes and premium quality of the Yogen Fruz product line. The use of polished blue glass tiles, gloss white panels, a contemporary color scheme and LED lights that paint the walls with color modernize the brand image throughout the retail space. New graphic menu panels capture the Yogen Fruz appetite appeal with close-croppings of the fresh fruit toppings and condiments, while the store layout has been changed to allow customers to see those fresh ingredients immediately in front of them as they stand at the counter.

The refresh also singles out the umlauted “U” in the Yogen Fruz name as an icon that expresses the feel-good expectation of the brand. The “U” appears on the store exterior and graphic wall detail where it pops out of phrases such as “Luv Life” and “Guilt-Free,” and is also carried through in the new package design.

Sit-down Yogen Fruz stores ranging from 800 to 1,400 square feet will feature different seating zones with an unusual upscale mix of bar-height and bench seating to cater to a variety of party sizes and experiences. Store formats will also include 100- to 200-square-foot kiosks and inline locations of 200 to 500 square feet.

Signage, packaging, uniforms and logos have also been updated.  Store design, brand identity, package design and website design were handled by Toronto-based Jump Branding and Design Inc.

“We are entering the U.S. market with more than two decades of worldwide experience and what we believe to be more stores than any frozen yogurt chain in the world. This new store design ensures that we have the contemporary identity and curb appeal necessary to cut through the clutter in the space, draw customers into the Yogen Fruz fold, and quickly put us on the U.S. map,” said Aaron Serruya, who started the company with his brother Michael.

“We have faced local competition in every market we have entered over the last 22 years, and in every case we have emerged as the last chain standing,” Serruya added. “We have every reason to believe that we can achieve the same leadership position in the U.S.”

Yogen Fruz opened its first store in Toronto in 1986. The first franchise unit opened a year later in London, Ontario. By 1989, the Serruyas had 100 stores in Canada. In November 1991, they expanded to Indonesia with their first master franchisee. By the mid 1990s, they were selling master franchise territorial rights in Europe and Latin America.

The signature menu item is Yogen Fruz’s “Blend It” — a create-your-own combination of low-fat, non-fat or no-sugar-added
frozen yogurt and any of 16 varieties of flash-frozen fresh fruit mixed in the company’s proprietary machines while customers watch. A “Top It” option features plain yogurt with a choice of 18 toppings from fruit to granola, carob chips and Cap’n Crunch. Other menu selections include dairy and non-dairy smoothies, fresh fruit cups, and parfait-style breakfast yogurt layered with fresh berries.

TORONTO, Ontario — Yogen Fruz, a frozen yogurt chain with 1,100 stores in over 20 countries, announced today that it has signed new partner and master franchisee Toyoda Sangyo Co. Ltd. to more than quintuple its store locations in Japan.

“Our franchising operations in Pacific Rim nations such as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand have been consistently successful in terms of profitability and growth over the past decade. Probiotics, Available Everyday in Yogen Fruz Non Fat and Low Fat Frozen Yogurt and Dairy Smoothies

Yogen Fruz Probiotics Yoga

The literal meaning of “Probiotics” comes from the Greek meaning “For Life” Probiotics are living bacteria cultures, which when consumed in sufficient quantities, have beneficial effects on health. Paris Hilton loves Yogen Fruz frozen yogurt

Paris Hilton Yogen Fruz Frozen Yogurt Toronto

Paris Hilton gets a healthy addiction.

It is 11 a.m. in a sprawling Toronto suburban mall as the pretty retail associates are prepping for another busy day. Then their cell phones start buzzing with text messages, a famous hotel heiress has told her driver to wait for her at the mall’s front door, as she runs in to get her latest addiction. Free your minds people, Paris Hilton is in the house and she needs some frozen yogurt!

Can frozen yogurt be addictive?

As a black SUV waits outside with the engine running, a couple hundred fashionable retail staff and lucky early bird shoppers catch a glimpse of Paris Hilton and her friends as they shop for Frozen Yogurt while creating quite the commotion.

It’s like holiday shopping madness but in October! She has been in Toronto shooting a film for the last 45 days.

Paris Hilton is spotted live and in person at Yorkdale Mall, sporting a hot pink t-shirt and designer sun glasses as she heads straight to Yogen Fruz for her fix.

Paris looks cool up close and much taller in person. She’s been seen enjoying her froyo fix a number of times at Yogen Fruz during her stay in Toronto.

Afterwards, we went up to the Yogen Fruz yogurtista at the counter and asked what Paris ordered, so here is the Paris Hilton special – raspberry mango no-fat with fruity pebbles on top.

There must have been about 200 people trying to get a glimpse of the famous poptart princess.

In line, one of the customers had a really cute Chihuahua / Tinkerbell look-alike wearing the most stylin’ doggie vest, then she approached Paris and invited her to pet the dog, as soon as Paris started petting the faux Tinkerbell, it started barking viciously. It was hilarious as Paris shrieked but took it in stride. Paris Hilton then left happily eating her Yogen Fruz frozen yogurt.

So what did this absolutely fabulous Hilton heiress have to say, as she was leaving the store? “It’s so good”.
