Yogen FrĂĽz recently signed a development agreement that will allow TRMOP LLC, a Honolulu-based master franchisee, to open 7 new stores, at least 5 of which will be located on Oahu. TRMOP and Yogen FrĂĽz are targeting Honolulu (Downtown Business District and Ward area), the Aiea/Pearl City area, and East Oahu for the first store openings.
TRMOP LLC will call upon its extensive experience in supply/logistics, customer service and administration, and financial management and economic analysis to open and manage each location to success, says Yogen FrĂĽz.
“Yogen Früz expects to capture the business of local residents – as well as tourists – in the state of Hawaii with our unique blending system, which combines delicious and nutritious frozen yogurt and fruit,” says Aaron Serruya, co-founder of Yogen Früz. “This is one of many recent development agreements that Yogen Früz has entered into as part of our U.S. expansion efforts and is a great step for the franchise as a whole.”
“Hawaii is an important part of Yogen Früz’s expansion, and we’re excited to be involved with such a trusted, well-known, and well-established name in the frozen yogurt business,” commented Tina Marie, Executive Vice President of TRMOP LLC.
Yogen FrĂĽz announced today that it has entered into a newly signed development agreement with Orbiz Corporation Pty Ltd. that will expand the franchise by 30 locations into Australia over the span of the agreement, beginning with a December store opening in Brisbane and 6 more projected openings for the next 6-12 months.
Orbiz Corporation Pty Ltd. will bring its successful retailing experience, multi-business management skill, and strong food background into this relationship, which Yogen Fruz expects to be very successful.
“Australia is a continent we’ve been hoping to expand to for a few years, but we hadn’t found the right franchisee for the job until we began discussion with Orbiz Corporation Pty Ltd.,” mentioned Aaron Serruya, co-founder of Yogen Früz. “The team at Orbiz brings a strong background, as well as an unparalleled business passion and the belief that this brand can thrive under their leadership.”
“Yogen Früz’s growth over the past year is proof enough that the company offers a great product and quality service and promotes healthy living,” commented Jenelle Moloney, Managing Director of Orbiz Corporation Pty Ltd. “We are happy to be part of such a recognized fro-yo industry name and believe this will be a fruitful relationship for both parties.”

Yogen FrĂĽz is adding two notches to its global belt with newly signed development agreements for 29 stores in Argentina and 21 stores in Peru.
The new fro-yo emporiums will expand the franchise’s footprint in Latin America, adding to existing Yogen Früz outlets in Dominican Republic, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Bolivia and Venezuela.
The master franchisee for Argentina and Peru is Fruzco Chile SA, the same group that has been building the Yogen Früz brand in Chile for the past 15 years. Fruzco Chile SA has opened 24 Yogen Früz stores in Chile to date and is scheduled to open 5 other stores in Chile before year’s end, with further expansion in that country. The master franchisee will be developing the two new markets under the names Fruzco Argentina and Fruzco Peru.
“Fruzco Chile has put us firmly on the map in Chile, and we have every confidence that they will have the same success in Argentina and Peru,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Früz. “Argentina in particular is a very strong market with one of the highest gross domestic products per capita in Latin America and the 23rd largest total national GDP in the world, not to mention the über-cosmopolitan Buenos Aires. We needed a strong territory developer to introduce our brand in these countries, and Fruzco Chile was the logical choice with their experience in South America.”
Yogen FrĂĽz announced today that YF Systems of Texas, LLC, will be opening up a series of franchise locations across Texas. YF Systems, the new master franchiser, plans to open 30 locations over the next ten years and will call on its past franchising experience to contribute to the development and growth of the Yogen FrĂĽz brand in Texas.
Â
“Texas is a tremendous place for business and has a potential customer base of more than 25 million residents,” remarked Jon Lindenbaum, a Principal of YF Systems of Texas.  “This state is a major component of Yogen Früz’s U.S. expansion.”
Â
Over the next year, YF Systems of Texas plans on opening several Yogen FrĂĽz stores in Texas, in addition to the more than 30 locations expected to open across the U.S. this year.
Â
“We were looking for someone who had worked with the Texas market,” commented Aaron Serruya, co-founder of Yogen Früz. “YF Systems has franchised quick-service restaurants in Texas previously, providing a wealth of experience to help extend our branding most effectively in the area. The state has a great climate for business and frozen yogurt.”
Â
“Over the last four years, natural yogurts have been the fastest-growing food category in U.S. grocery stores. This has familiarized American consumers with tarter yogurts, and that’s what today’s yogurt stores are delivering,” said Serruya. “The timing is right to build a U.S. presence.”
President Bush was seen enjoying a Yogen FrĂĽz strawberry banana non-fat frozen yogurt with John Kane, Yogen FrĂĽz Master Franchisee for Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC.
President Bush spoke at a fundraiser for Pat McCrory, who is running for Governor of North Carolina. Yogen Früz was enjoyed by all the guests in attendance. Yogen Früz will be coming to Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC very soon. In the meantime, it is available in Chicago, San Francisco and in over 20 countries around the world.
International frozen yogurt chain Yogen FrĂĽz has Georgia on its mind with a master franchise agreement that will bring 10 stores to the Peach State over the next few years. The agreement with Atlanta-based LB Yogurt LLC is the third U.S. development contract signed by Yogen FrĂĽz in the last month and the sixth since mid-2007, marking the first phase of an expansion into the U.S.
“Georgia is a key point on our U.S. road map, and LB Yogurt will be a strong territory developer as well as a strong ambassador for our brand,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Früz. “At the same time, as our third master franchise announcement in a month, this agreement shows the power of the frozen yogurt space in general and the Yogen Früz experience in the space in particular. We may be selling the big chill, but the market is red-hot.”
Yogen FrĂĽz has announced that it has signed a master franchise agreement with Miami-based Frozen Guy LLC that will bring 21 stores to South Florida over the next eight years. Yogen Fruz has granted exclusive development rights to Frozen Guy LLC for all of South Florida below the Tampa-St. Petersburg area, including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
“South Florida has ideal demographics for frozen yogurt stores, not to mention the kind of weather where frozen treats are appealing year-round. This area was therefore a major target for our development efforts,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Früz. “This agreement is an important step in our plans to lead the frozen yogurt category in the U.S. and we are fortunate to have the Frozen Guy LLC group help us focus on growth in this area.”
Yogen FrĂĽz announced plans to open 16 stores in the Virginia and Washington, D.C. areas through a master franchise agreement with Raleigh, North Carolina-based YF Atlantic LLC. Plans are underway to secure the area’s first locations in Arlington, Alexandria, Chevy Chase, Fairfax, Tyson’s Corner, Washington DC’s East End, West End and Georgetown. The first location is expected to open early next year.
The contract marks the first for Yogen Früz in the eastern U.S. and the fifth master franchise agreement signed for the U.S. since mid-2007 as part of the company’s entry into the U.S. market. The first two U.S. stores opened last month in suburban Chicago’s Woodfield Shopping Center and San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center, with up to 1,000 U.S. outlets planned by 2018.
All stores feature Yogen Früz’s “Blend It” create-your-own frozen yogurt/fruit blends, mixed in the company’s proprietary machines while customers watch. Customers also have a “Top It” option consisting of plain yogurt with a choice of 18 toppings from fruit to granola, carob chips and Cap’n Crunch. Other menu items include dairy and non-dairy smoothies, fresh fruit cups, and parfait-style breakfast yogurt layered with fresh berries.
“We have a strategic road map for our U.S. expansion, and we are focusing on major metropolitan areas because they are the tastemakers for the country. The greater D.C. area was one of our top priorities,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Früz. “This agreement is therefore an important building block in our plan to make Yogen Früz the frozen yogurt brand of choice in the U.S. We are fortunate to be able to partner up with a strong group that will help us penetrate some parts of the eastern U.S.”
