An interesting study revealed that fat is shed when there are more individuals in a shared space.
This led us to thinking - the more engaging the environment, the more calories we could burn!
Although this study is still in its early stages, it gives us a great reason to get a bunch of friends together for an evening of board games and giggles (feel those abs crunch!) The options are as endless as your friend list on Facebook!
As they say, the more the merrier – and now, the healthier!

The worst of winter is not over just yet, however we are getting super excited to see the pops of colour in our wardrobe this spring season! The top colours are bright, bubbly and bursting with boldness! We’re also seeing some striking similarities with the colours of the season and the colours of some of our fave YF mixes and toppings! Matching our strawberry smoothie to our sundress? Yes, please!

The holidays are here! And while we are sure you love everything there is to love about the most wonderful time of the year, sometimes we can fall a little too in love (cough cough third glass of egg nog). Here are five ways to avoid putting on the holiday pounds without avoiding your favourite festive fillings!
1. Eat Regularly: It gets super busy this time of the year causing major diet disruptions. We can go hours without eating when we are in a ‘gift wrap zone’ and then over indulge when we are in ‘party zone.’ Avoid eating irregularly; keep snacks handy and healthy. We recommend a Yogen FrÜz fruit cup – its heart-healthy and full of flavour!
2. Sleep: Make sure your counting your sheep during the holidays! Catching major z’s will reduce stress and help boost your metabolism.
3. Exercise: You’ve got a million and one things to do before the 24th, how will you ever find the time to hit the elliptical. Don’t worry; exercising comes in all shapes and forms (literally). Take a brisk walk while catching up with visiting family or do some crunches while watching your fave Christmas special!
4. Relax: The holidays are all about enjoyment, however sometimes relaxing and enjoying are not one in the same. Make sure to breathe, relax and take time for Ü. Read that book you just bought or enjoy your favorite froyo with a friend.
5. Indulge Moderately: How could anyone say no to a turkey dinner with all the fixings? You don’t have to. Enjoy everything in moderation. Have your CARBniverous meal with a glass of water instead of wine or substitute bread for more veggies. Whatever you do make sure to treat yourself, you’ve been so good this year!

The popularity of Frozen Yogurt has exploded in Brazil resulting in new yogurt companies and franchises sprouting up frequently. This recent surge in demand triggered the Brazilian Proteste Consumers Association (Brazil’s equivalent to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency) to laboratory test samples of “frozen yogurt” from each of the eight main players (Yogen Früz, Yogolove, Yoggi, Yogoberry, Yofoira, Tutti Frutti, Bendita Fruta and Yogofresh) in the market. These samples were analyzed to determine if they met the bacterial, fat and sugar content required to be labeled yogurt by the Ministry of Agriculture Brazil and the Standard Health Agency in the UK.
The bacterial culture added to milk is the most vital component in making yogurt. Every gram of yogurt requires a minimum of 10 000 000* viable bacteria to be labeled as such. However, the Proteste Consumers Association was surprised to find that out of the eight samples of frozen yogurt that they took, all but one came close to meeting this minimum. From Bendita Fruta’s 110/g* to Yoforia’s 280 000/g*, none of the samples came remotely near Yogen Früz’s 94,000,000/g*.

No, that’s not a typo; Yogen Früz’s soft-serve yogurt contains almost 336 times the good bacteria as the next leading company’s product, surpassing the industry minimum by 940%. While we’re happy with the result of this test, we would love to see other countries around the world follow Brazil’s initiative to uphold product standards. Consumers should be aware if they’re eating healthy and delicious yogurt, or something that could be more accurately described as yogurt infused ice cream.

Yogurt is a product that is made from milk that has been fermented using naturally occurring good bacteria called “yogurt cultures”. The lactose in milk goes through fermentation by the yogurt cultures to produce lactic acid, which when combined with the protein found in milk gives yogurt its signature texture and flavour. Typically cow milk is used to make yogurt, however milk from water buffalo, goats, sheep, and even yaks and camels is also used in other parts of the world. And because yogurt is made from milk, it is nutritionally rich in calcium, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, riboflavin, and protein which all are essential to keep your body healthy and strong.

In today’s fast paced society, we’re expected to do multiple things at once and be two places at the same time. Meanwhile, we’re surrounded by technology and distractions everywhere. Do you feel overwhelmed by it all? Meditation is a way to help you clear your mind and help block out distractions. It will help you realize just how far and how fast your mind can wander from what you’re supposed to be doing.
The initial benefits of meditation are subtle, so while you may not feel flashes of insight when meditating, its effects will become apparent to you later. Afterward, you may notice that you responded to a crisis with calmness or you do not “explode” in a situation that would normally anger you. Let go of your expectations of achieving immediate results and you’ll soon realize the results will happen slowly because meditation is not a race, its a process and means to a happier lifestyle.
To start your own meditation, you need nothing more than the willingness to change your lifestyle. Follow the lesson on HowStuffWorks.com to see how easy it is.

The mango, also known as The King of Fruit, is native to southern Asia and have been cultivated in the Indian subcontinent for thousands of years. Since then, they’ve been cultivated in East Asia, East Africa, Brazil, West Indies, Mexico, and later introduced to USA in 1880.
The leading mango cultivator is India but very little is exported as most are consumed within the country. The top mango exporters are Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Haiti, Guatemala and Venezuela. Mangoes account for approximately half of all tropical fruits produced worldwide with more than 33,000,000 tonnes in 2007.
Mangoes are very low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. It’s also a good source of Dietary Fiber and Vitamin B6, and a very good source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
Have you tried a mango lately? There’s lots to go around! Mix mango in your Mix It froyo, put fresh mango on your Top It froyo or blend it in your Smoothie.
