We ran into an interesting article over at the Fitness Tips for Life website. They offered advice about healthy foods you can eat while holiday shopping at the mall and what foods to avoid. Guess who they suggested? Ü
We’ve came up with our own list of tips to compliment everyone’s holiday shopping experience.
1. Try to come to the mall only wearing a light jacket as the malls are already set to a toasty 72F / 22C
2. Bring cash only so you know you will not overspend
3. Wear comfortable shoes
4. Avoid caffeine as it just gives you a short spike in energy and leaves you more tired after the affects wear off
5. Avoid shopping on an empty stomach
6. Eat healthy snacks like Yogen Fruz frozen yogurt, smoothies and fruit cups to maintain your energy level Ü
7. Stay hydrated and drink lots of water
8. Bring your iPod to avoid having to listen to the same holiday jingles over and over, from store to store
9. Take lots of breaks, because we know what heavy shopping bags can do

Yogen Früz announced today that YF Systems of Texas, LLC, will be opening up a series of franchise locations across Texas. YF Systems, the new master franchiser, plans to open 30 locations over the next ten years and will call on its past franchising experience to contribute to the development and growth of the Yogen Früz brand in Texas.
“Texas is a tremendous place for business and has a potential customer base of more than 25 million residents,” remarked Jon Lindenbaum, a Principal of YF Systems of Texas. “This state is a major component of Yogen Früz’s U.S. expansion.”
Over the next year, YF Systems of Texas plans on opening several Yogen Früz stores in Texas, in addition to the more than 30 locations expected to open across the U.S. this year.
“We were looking for someone who had worked with the Texas market,” commented Aaron Serruya, co-founder of Yogen Früz. “YF Systems has franchised quick-service restaurants in Texas previously, providing a wealth of experience to help extend our branding most effectively in the area. The state has a great climate for business and frozen yogurt.”
“Over the last four years, natural yogurts have been the fastest-growing food category in U.S. grocery stores. This has familiarized American consumers with tarter yogurts, and that’s what today’s yogurt stores are delivering,” said Serruya. “The timing is right to build a U.S. presence.”
TORONTO, Ontario — Yogen Fruz, a frozen yogurt chain with 1,100 stores in over 20 countries, announced today that it has signed new partner and master franchisee Toyoda Sangyo Co. Ltd. to more than quintuple its store locations in Japan.
The agreement calls for the development of 60 Yogen Fruz outlets throughout Japan over the next five years, adding to the 15 stores already operating in that country and managed by Toyoda Sangyo under the Yogen Fruz banner.
Toyoda Sangyo has been involved in the foodservice industry as a franchisee and purchaser of various independent restaurants since 2000, when it diversified into foodservice after many years as a manufacturer of textile machines. The company is based in Aichi, Japan, and has developed or acquired 44 restaurant locations to date.
“Our franchising operations in Pacific Rim nations such as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand have been consistently successful in terms of profitability and growth over the past decade. Japan is the largest and most affluent market in the region, so it presents a major business opportunity for us,” said Aaron Serruya, President of Yogen Fruz. “Toyoda Sangyo has a strong foodservice track record, and we are confident that they will help us successfully grow Yogen Fruz throughout Japan.”
